Huawei Nova 2 Lite Price Philippines 2021

The official price of the Huawei Nove 2 Lite is P9,990 when it was first released. The smartphone is available at P7,900 on Lazada. You may find the Nova 2 Lite in some smartphone retailers in the Philippines.

Design and Build

The Nova 2 Lite takes from the Nova 2i some design cues. It comes with a unibody design, a slim profile as well as a seamless metallic chrome side. At first glance, the Nova 2 Lite doesn’t look like a budget smartphone with its classy looks combined with premium feel. It is a quite large device on paper because of the display. However, Huawei manages to keep it relatively small and manageable.

On the front is a 5.99-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Right above the panel is the 8MP selfie snapper, sensors and speakerphone. At the bottom is the Huawei’s branding. There are no physical navigation keys as the phone uses on-screen keys.

On the left of the phone is the triple card tray with dedicated slots for a microSD card and two SIM cards. The volume rocker and the power/lock button are on the right.

Moving to the bottom of the device, you will find the primary microphone, 3.5mm audio port, micro USB port, and loudspeaker.

The finish of the rear is sand-blasted-like, adding flair to the device.

On the back, we have the dual rear camera setup that is slightly protruding, consisting of a 13MP main camera, a 2MP sensor, and an LED flash. Huawei locates the cameras at the top left corner horizontally rather than vertically like on the Nova 2i. Besides the camera module, we have the Huawei’s logo, a fingerprint scanner, and the secondary microphone.

Thanks to its rounded edges and its form factor, the smartphone feels light enough and easy to hold in hand. The finish of the rear is sand-blasted-like, adding flair to the device. However, it can’t keep smudges and fingerprints away. Nevertheless, the phone manages to exude an aura that will trick you into thinking it is more expensive than its actual price.

Display and Multimedia

Next is our review is the display. The phone has a 5.99-inch IPS panel with HD+ resolution equating to 269ppi. For this screen size, it would have been better if it offered Full HD resolution. While it isn’t bad, if you are used to having phones with high-resolution screens, it will probably feel like a downgrade.

On the other hand, the display has good viewing angles and color reproduction. But brightness is quite lacking. If you are out, direct sunlight will affect your viewing experience slightly.

The speaker of the phone is pretty average. You have good Mids and Highs. The sound can get quite loud while the clarity can still be heard. But like other devices of this price range, you can’t hear the Lows.

Huawei Nova 2 Lite Specs And Price Philippines: Camera

Next in the review is cameras. Unlike its predecessor, the Nova 2 Lite only has a single dual camera setup with a standard 13MP main camera and a 2MP wide-angle bokeh lens with a bokeh adjustment of 7 levels. On the front are an 8MP selfie shooter and a soft light LED flash.

Camera features include Panorama, HDR, Good food mode, Document scan, smile to capture, Audio Control, 10-level Beauty mode, watermark, filters, and Wide-Aperture mode capable of simulating f/1.0 to f/7,9 apertures. However, there is no Manual mode.

In terms of quality, the photos produced by the rear dual cameras look good in brightly-lit conditions with above average color reproduction, detail, and accuracy. As long as there is enough lighting, macro shots also look beautiful. If not, shots will have low sharpness and noticeable grain. The wide-aperture bokeh is a fun tool to use. However, at maximum level, shots are too artificial.

On the other hand, the 8MP selfie snapper is just an average selfie shooter. In abundant sunlight, images, while having lots of details, are overexposed and overblown. You need to be in an area with the right amount of light for a nice and stable selfie. The photos from the selfie camera won’t impress but they are enough for social media.

The smartphone is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps. The ability to autofocus of the phone is amazing. Accuracy and color reproduction are good. Overall, you have a decent video shooter with the Nova 2 Lite. If you are into photography, check out OPPO Reno 3 Pro 2021 price in the Philippines.

Performance and Benchmarks

The Nova 2 Lite doesn’t have Huawei’s own Kirin chipset. Instead, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 with 3GB RAM and Adreno 505 GPU.

The smartphone can handle basic tasks as well as multitasking without any issues.

In busy scenarios, you may encounter drop in frames and some warming at the back, but they aren’t serious enough to hamper your gameplay.
