Huawei Nova 5T Specs and Price Philippines 2021
Huawei Nova 5T Price Philippines
Huawei released the Nova 5T in the Philippines in 2019. At that time, Huawei Nova 5T price in Philippines was P18,990. But now, the price has dropped to P12,999 (Shopee) with only the Crush Blue color available.
Huawei Nova 5T Design
You’ll find on the 2.5D glass-clad back the newly minted Nova monogram with an eye-catching reflective finish, creating a nearly holographic aesthetic. With the Midsummer Purple variant, the dark purple finish can hide the fingerprints even though the glass finish is a fingerprint magnet.
On the back is a quad-camera model placed in a vertical position. The lens setup resembles the one on the P30 Pro. The three main lenses and the flash are in a single line while a tiny sensor is located on the side.
The camera bump on the device isn’t as bad as the one on the Honor 20 Pro, its closely match counsin. However, if you lay the phone flat on the table, it will wobble.
On the front is a big 6.26-inch display. The phone feels sturdy and nice on the hand. The Nova 5T comes with a 4.5mm punch-hole in the top-left corner instead of the notch, resulting in a over 90% screen-to-body ratio. The bezels around the screen are mostly thin, except for the chin on the bottom.
You will find the side-mounted fingerprint scanner/power button and the volume rockerson the right side of the phone. And at bottom are the speaker grille and a USB-C port. The headphone jack is got rid of. The phone isn’t water-resistant.
Huawei Nova 5T Display
The smartphone sports an IPS LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution with 412 ppi for crisp images and videos. However, since the display is an IPS LCD one, it drains the battery. LCD screens don’t have dark mode either. However, you can visit the Display settings to lower the resolution manually.
The colors aren’t as vivid as OLED and AMOLED panels. In certain profiles, contrast seems off and blacks aren’t truly black.
Huawei Nova 5T Camera
Next in the review is the camera. The Nova 5T comes with an impressive and versatile quad-camera module. The lenses with AI trickery can produce some really good shots. They are just a tad below the P30 Pro’s LEica branded quad cameras. But they are comparable to even top performers like the Galaxy S10+ from Samsung.
On the front is a 32MP selfie snapper with software enhancements and AI smarts. But the selfies look over-processed. The AI is only useful when you are in a dark room. Without AI and with enough light, the image can be quite decent.
On the back, you have a 48MP primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.4, laser autofocus, and optical image stabilization. You also get a 16MP super-wide lens with a f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP telephoto lens with a f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP macro lens with a f/2.4 aperture.
When taking photo, the 48MP sensor does most of the job. The resulting shot is in 12MP. But you can still chooose to take 48MP photos by changing the camera settings.
The photos look best when you take photos of the scenery during the day. Meanwhile, the human subjects can be a bit dry. If you don’t change the camera settings at night, the photos can be overexposed and murky. If you want a more budget-friendly phone, check out Huawei Nova 2 Lite specs and price Philippines.
Huawei Nova 5T Performance
The smartphone gets the same Kirin 980 used on the Mate and P30 series. It can handle even the most demanding apps. And multitasking is a breeze with 8GB of RAM.
Compared to the Snapdragron 855 in OnePlus 7 series, it itsn’t as powerful or fast. But it has no issues whe running multiple apps with large files downloaded in the background.
Huawei Nova 5T Battery Life
The 3,750mAh battery of the phone can last for a day consistently. And with software-enabled optimization and conservative use, it can even last until the next day.
The Nova 5T doesn’t support wireless charging, which is a shame. Thankfully, the 22.W super charger that comes in the box can swiftly charge the battery. It takes only 30 minutes to get the battery to 50%.
