Vivo S1 Pro Specs and Price Philippines 2021
Design & Build Quality
Different from its sibling, on the rear of the S1 Pro, is a diamond-shaped camera module. It is definitely eye-catching, considering that not many smartphones these days have experienced different styles of camera modules. According to Vivo, it got its inspiration for the overall design language of the S1 Pro from jewelry. The smartphone is available in two colors: Fancy Sky and Knight Black.
On the front, the display of the S1 Pro sports a waterdrop notch to house the front camera. The bezels around the panel are slim with the chin being wider.
With the Knight Black version, you will notice red accents presented all over the device. On the right side are the volume rocker and the red power button. Both are easy to reach. The hybrid dual SIM card tray is on the left side. At the top are the 3.5 mm headphone jack and the noise-cancelling mic. And at the bottom are the main microphone, the speaker, and the USB-C port.
Thanks to its glass construction and a metallic frame, the S1 Pro feels premium. It is robust but at the same time is quite thick and hefty. Its slightly curved rear makes it comfortable to grasp the phone. The S1 Pro, like other glass back smartphone, attracts fingerprints, dirt and smudge. So we recommend users to use a phone case.
Display and Multimedia
Next in our review is the display. The S1 Pro has 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080. Vivo didn’t use Gorilla Glass protection for this phone. A screen protector is installed over the display instead. As the display of the S1 Pro is a Super AMOLED one, it products punchy and vibrant with sharp details and good contrast.
In terms of audio, the produced sound can get moderately loud. You can thoroughly hear the mids.
OS, UI, and Apps
The S1 Pro ran Android 9 Pie as its operating system when it was first launched with Vivo’s FunTouch OS 9.2 on top. For those who aren’t familiar to Vivo devices, the skin can be rather confusing even though it is pretty clean. Swiping down from the top of the screen will show the notifications while swiping up from the bottom will let you view the shortcut keys. For those who like to access their favorite features and apps quickly, there is an Easy Touch shortcut. This can be enabled via the settings.
For navigation, users can choose between gestures or buttons. On the other hand, apps can be arranged only in a home screen style. In case you are tired of the phone’s default light mode, there is a dark mode available. Other features include Lock, Kids Mode, Ultra Gaming Mode, and Motorbike Mode.
The S1 Pro comes pre-installed with the usual Google apps and other Vivo apps like vivoCloud, V-AppStore, and EasyShare. You also have third-party apps like Facebook, WeSing, Lazada, WPS Office, Opera, and WeSing. Out of the 128GB, these take up around 115GB. However, the storage can be expanded to 256GB with microSD.
